In the fall of 2020 Total Basement Finishing of WNY worked with a customer on their basement, where the customer only wanted to finish the lower half of their walls and the floors. The customer had recently purchased the home, and there was some water damage to the floors, ceilings, and part of the walls. They wanted to finish the lower half of the basement and make the ceiling look nice again, but to leave the upper half of the walls as they were. We worked with the homeowner on this project and the lower half of the walls look wonderful.
In the summer of 2020, a couple contacted Total Basement Finishing of WNY because they were thinking about remodeling their basement. They weren't too sure what they wanted to do with their full basement yet, but they knew that they were ready to start planning ahead for what they could do in the future.
They chose to hold on to a full basement finishing project for now and to have Total Basement Finishing of WNY install an egress window for them this year. The couple decided on a Bowman Kemp egress window system which includes the window well, an escape ladder, the well cap, and the escape window. They had some amazing bushes in front of the perfect place for the egress window system to go into and agreed to remove these before the installation started.
The project was originally anticipated to be done in the fall of 2020, and everything was installed in October of 2020. We hope that the new egress window is providing the couple with a lot of light and safety; and that when they are ready to move forward with finishing their basement that they will call on us at Total Basement Finishing to do the work for them.
Finishing a basement to create a comfortable and happy space for a couple who foster dogs, so the dogs have a warm and safe place to play in when winter hits in Western New York.
The basement remodel included new EverLast Wall Systems, a new door, painting the ceiling, new wiring, recessed lights in the ceiling to flood the space with a warm glow, and a whole new floor made up of our Thermal Dry plank flooring. The basement already had an egress window and due to the size of the basement and that the space was not being broken up into seperate rooms, we did not need to install another egress window.
